Cincinnati, Ohio-Shenzhen, China. CUBD announced the signing of a MOU with the Cincinnati Eye Institute (CEI), the United States largest private eye institute, to expand their services in China. The agreement endeavors to identify medical services, professional and academic knowledge sharing, fundus/OTC image reading services and concierge surgical procedures for certain private and public hospitals in China.
The largest private ophthalmology practice in the country, CEI was founded in 1945 by Morris Osher, M.D., whose son, Robert H. Osher, M.D., helped grow the practice into a world-class center of ophthalmic excellence. Today, a Board of Directors composed of eleven physicians and executive administration governs CEI.
"CEI has a 70-year tradition of providing the highest level of medical and surgical eye care to enhance the quality of patients' lives," says Michael R. Petersen, M.D., Ph.D., a vitreoretinal specialist and Immediate Past Chairman of the Board of Directors. "In addition, virtually all of our doctors participate in research studies, publish extensively and train medical students and residents as well."
